The next gen of trunk trackers should be SDR based. Same interface and look as today's models but the guts inside would be SDR.
For the more advanced users allow them to plug the computer via usb and let them grab the baseband and be able to use things like sdr#
And allow a few slots in the trunk tracker for user provided waveforms and trunking systems.
So Uniden is in the clear because they are not responsible for what the end user does. If they choose to upload mototrbo waveform and the ability to trunk dmr, well that is the users responsibility.
