Well, Now that I figured out that you cant run trunker or etrunker from within Win XP I finally got my PCR1000 to come by booting to DOS! The next step is to tune the radio and I have no idea how to do that! I have read the PDF and there is no instructions on how to do this! Can somone please help a newbie with this? Also the DOC's keep talking about data files. I have none. Do I need them? Where can I get the files for my local riverside CA systems? I cant find any operating insructions for trunker or etrunker at all! The DOC's dont tell you how to get the program running at all! Just a few obscure referances to some files! UGH! Does anyone use this program? Has anyone got it to work at all? IF SO PLEASE HELP! It looks like such a great program!

Thanks

Next to a scanner...
I'm assuming you just want to listen to the active talk groups with your PCR1000. First, you'll need to follow the instructions in the doc files for setting up a "trackenv.txt" file (you can just search for "trackenv" in the document and you'll find it). In your file, you need to specify:

TRACKSCAN=PCR1000
TRACKSCANPORT=COMx - where x is where you have your PCR
TRACKSCANBAUD=9600

You can add other things to get trunker to automatically configure many things as it starts, but you'll have to read the docs for that. Be sure to type:

set trackenv=trackenv.txt

BEFORE you start trunker. This tells trunker where your config file is.
All of this should tell trunker to send the data to the PCR1000 once it is decoding a control channel. Be sure you have the PCR on before you start trunker. To control the squelch and volume, hit "R" while running trunker - V and a + or - controls volume, and S and + or - controls squelch.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
