NFM or P25 ?

Hello,

I have in Sentinel, and downloaded to my new SDS200, my Town's PD.

In Sentinel, apparently when i imported and selected from the big RR Database, the modulation of NFM is what shows (in Sentinel).

But if I look up the PD specifically, it shows P25.

Will NFM "work", or should I change it, somehow, to P25 ? Why ?
If so, what else might need changing that I should check ?

Let me please ask this also: I understand that the scanner "automatically" switches modes when scanning if it picks up a broadcast.
Is this "mode" information taken from what has been entered as information into the scanner for a particular broadcast/site, or is
it determined from what it picks up in an actual broadcast that it has locked onto ?

P25 and other digital modes use NFM, all that means is 12.5Khz channel width. P25 is what is being put in that 12.5Khz channel.
