What exactly is the NHP Allied channel in Southern Command?

The Allied Channel is used by other law enforcement divisions within the Nevada Department of Public Safety and by a few other non-DPS agencies that have a need to utilize NHP for dispatching purposes. DPS divisions that can be found on this channel are Capitol Police, Fire Marshal, Investigations, and Parole and Probation. There are times when this channel is simulcasted with one or more regular NHP dispatch talk groups. This often happens when one dispatcher must handle multiple channels at the same time.
