As of late communications on 460.500 are nearly unintelligible. Portables that are "141"? or repeater issues? It seems that the communication system is held together with some spit and string. Having been there and done that on the "Job", I wouldn't be very happy.

Yes F3 is operating on the backup since the microwave is having issues between KofC tower & the roof of 1 Union. 2 weeks ago the repeater "failure tones" were sounding on F2 for 4 days (since rectified) but nobody knew what that sound was. Utility Comm took care of that after a phone call was made

So noted. Thank you.
But, the situation begs the problem, will they get around to fixing the system rather than patching it? Well of aware of the $$ & political situation/considerations in NH, been there and seen that, but really now, does there need to be a PO being injured or worse due to patchy communications? I'm surprised the Union local hasn't stepped up to the plate on this ongoing safety issue.

The PD Union (Local 530) is not properly run & has not been in the past 15 years or so & I doubt they even consider (or know) radio issues being officer safety issues.

I agree. Local 530 was a different Union in it's day, especially when "Nick" was the ahem, Chief. Sgt. Cavallaro did a good job back in the day.
I remember when a 6 or 8 Saber charging rack with Sabers disappeared. No pin the tail on the donkey. But when anti Nick graffiti appeared In the locker room, finger prints and palm prints were taken in an effort to find the scoundrel responsible.

Hahaha yes & during a "blue flu" the tapes of the "malicious radio transmissions" were sent for voice recognition to no avail

I listen all the time when I’m in new Haven and whoever takes care of that system should be ashamed.
at the mininum the receivers need optimizing and they need to fix the audio when ch2 & 3 are patched together

When I was working there, I had everything running 5x5 (Consoles, portables, main sets, mdts, rms, you name it). After I retired the radio system became an afterthought until now. Console operators not knowing what is a repeater, microwave, simplex, duplex, analog, digital, trunked, conventional etc.

CCS ran smoothly, CS2 was always (pretty much) available and equipment ran as it should. BTW: Were you around when they tried the RCA portables with the twist off battery casing? What a laugh that was.
