Hey, random question. With this large fire in Lockport, and all these out of county resources coming into the county, is the legacy system up and running and how are they communicating with Niagara County? Does anyone know how thats working?

I'm running Unitrunker now and getting a lot of hits on talkgroup 209 which is not in the database.
I also notice is sometimes shows up as P4, which means no dice for monitoring. I am too far away to monitor voice comms, but am getting a good signal for decoding through the discriminator tap.

Wonder if it is concerning the Lockport Fire?

209 is a sheriff encrypted channel

I see talkgroup 405 showing up on Unitrunker.

Could this be Lewiston PW?

Does Niagara County page and/or voice dispatch on 425.4625 for Fire, or is that channel silent? It's in the RRDB as "Legacy Zone", and no other paging like channel is listed. Or are they paging using digital pagers/cell phones?

Yes, tones dropping on that all day!

Also, from what I’ve herd from a Emergency Manager for the county, he told me, each fire incident is also assigned a analog channel, which is the legacy stuff. I don’t know from first hand experience, but it’s what I was told, from a pretty reliable source. Southern Erie County is a little far away for me to verify it personally

they rarely use the analog ops channels. 99 percent of the time they just use the digital tac channels on scene

Do they simulcast onto the analog ops channels? I’m fully aware they simulcast onto 425.4625, because we just junked our F-2 Fireground channel due to you them blowing us out of the water. I hear them crystal clear in the southtowns on a minitor 6

Just the dispatch is being simulcast to the analog. The digital tac channels are totally separate.

Thanks for the information. The RRDB is a bit misleading...the Dispatch channel should be above the part that legacy zone.

I had a hard time picking the system up clearly with my PSR-800. It was garbled a lot of the time. With my new BCD436HP it’s crystal clear though!! What a difference! I’m enjoying the system from Lewiston NY.

Anyone monitoring the TRS normally? Im too far away to reliably decode the audio, just getting the CC right now. But monitoring that I'm seeing a lot of activity on TG 209, which is not submitted
