I keep hearing Niagara County FD keep referring to a “941 Transport” can’t figure out exactly what they’re referring to, maybe something along the line of psychiatric event? Or narcotics impairment?

New York Mental Hygiene Law Section 9.41 - Emergency assessment for immediate observation, care, and
treatment; powers of certain peace officers and police officers.

Thank you, I looked up the specifics of the law 9.41, I just wasn't sure what the details was in relation to this code, although I know each department or jurisdiction has their own coding and so forth.

I don't know about Niagara County but many departments use "1192" for V&T 1192 - DWI (which covers alcohol or drugs). So you may hear an EMS call for 1192 for a DWI arrest needing medical.
I don't usually monitor EMS but, in the past, "ETOH" (EtOH = Ethanol) was often used by EMS to indicate an apparent intoxicated patient.

Well, while we're at it, on the same topic, you'll probably hear "2209" as well, which references MHY 22.09 for persons intoxicated, impaired, or incapacitated by alcohol and/or substances. That's another "common code" you might hear on the radio, specifically EMS being dispatched for the transport of an MHY 22.09 subject. MOST of the codes you'd probably hear in WNY radios are referencing NYS PL, VTL, or MHY sections, with the exception of the few that still use intermittently use the APCO codes/signals.
