Niagara Falls Unknown DMR stuff.

Was down in the Falls yesterday and was able to capture a few new frequencies while down there.


452.8125 DMR CC 14 TG 4528125 I believe is Ripley's Entertainment. Heard them mention that they didn't have any of something at Tussauds or Ripley's and later on heard them tell the wax museum to play a new song.

454.2000 DMR CC 7 TG 9 I believe this is Niagara Takes Flight.. they mentioned on the radio that they could take 7 people next flight. They do have radios as I did see the guy at the entrance upstairs does has a radio nearby

452.6000 DMR CC 1 TG 1 sounds like a front desk of a hotel TG 16 unknown

452.4625 DMR CC TG 1 unknown sounds like a hotel
I thought these two where listed before in some capacity?

451.1875/454.4250 Cap+ CC 10 I have heard this being used in the past. I believe it's licensed to the City Of NF. Yesterday they where being used for the city's Easter special event.. 155 was the main channel and 156 was the shuttle..

Also does anyone know what TG 103 is on the HOCO frequencies? I heard them yesterday but wasn't able to figure them out.

Great work. I'm sure there are tons of DMR for the area hotels. I think it will be a process of elimination since a bunch are on Talk Wireless.

I programmed in HOCO last time I was in Niagara but as a one freq to store TG's UID's. There was also tons of analog simplex in the Clifton Hill area as well.

I do remember that the SkyWheel has radios and they are part of HOCO, so I wonder if they could be TG 103? HOCO also runs Dino Adventure Golf and Strike Game Zone, but I am not sure if they have radios in those two places.

It's more than likely that TG=103 might be the Skywheel. They usually have the main ticket booth, one person directing the lines, and two to three people on the loading platform itself. I've been down there more times than I can even count, and I know they are using MOTOTRBO radios with headsets/boom mics.

I just checked on the repeaters, and I can receive it full scale at my house. So, I plugged everything into DSD+, and enabled call recording. If there's anything that I pick up, I will share it with the group here.

Now that the nicer weather is slowly getting here, and the city seems to be picking up more and more traffic, I will do some listening to the other frequencies you have listed and let you know what I find too.

Food for thought: I wonder if one of the "hotel" frequencies you may have heard is the Double Tree on Stanley Ave. I know they are using MOTOTRBO XPR-7550 radios in there, but I have yet to hear them anywhere on the airwaves.

Update:
For some reason, my signal strength is showing full scale on my SDS-100, SDS-200, and I am receiving the repeater very well on my SDR. However, there reviewing some of the recording captured by the HOCO Ltd. repeater, I have received a lot of packet loss!

With that said, I mainly focused on Repeater #1 (462.86250) and TG=103 today. Without a shadow of doubt in my mind this talkgroup appears to be some kind of supervisor channel. Multiple different attractions on the HOCO side of the hill were calling requesting coverage for shift and washroom breaks, and also multiple requests to call certain attractions.

Below is a compiled list of the recordings I captured from my house today... like I said, they aren't the best, but you can make out a few key mentions such as:

• Break/Washroom Coverage
• Mention of opening Movieland
• "Crystal, can you call IT really quick please?"
• "Can you call me at Ghost Blasters please?"
• "Hey Crystal, can you come over to Carnival Chaos?"
• "Hey Crystal, can I get a washroom break at XD?"
• "Can you call STRIKE info?"
• "Speedway was on a rain delay"
• "Can I get a tech to coconut mash in the midway please and thank you?"

Those are just some examples of what's happening in attached recordings.

I can confirm that both 452.4625 and 452.6 Are being used by the new Hyatt Regency Hotel (Formally Embassy Suites) it looks like the kept the same radio system in place and are using Hytera Portables.

I have been monitoring the HOCO system and have decoded the following repeater and talkgroup activity:

Repeater 1 – 462.8625 MHz (DMR)

• TS 1, TG 101 – Parking (confirmed; previously identified as Maintenance)
• TS 1, TG 103 – Supervisors / Management
• TS 2, TG 104 – Niagara Speedway (Go-Karts)

Repeater 2 – 463.9625 MHz (DMR)

• TS 1, TG 105 – Security
• TS 2, TG 106 – Great Canadian Midway (Arcade)

This largely aligns with my previous database submission from July 23, 2022. At that time, TG 103 was unconfirmed, and TG 101 had been tentatively labeled as Maintenance.

I have also observed brief activity on TG 102; however, no voice traffic, radio IDs, or repeater/slot data were captured. Based on the current talkgroup structure, it would be reasonable to assume a sequential assignment (TG 101–106), with the possibility of TG 100 also existing within the system. Additional monitoring will be required to confirm TG 102 usage and identify any further talkgroups.

One additional observation: audio quality on TG 104 (Go-Karts) and TG 106 (Midway/Arcade) has been inconsistent. Transmissions are frequently either too low relative to background noise or significantly overdriven (i.e., users speaking too close to the microphone). This is somewhat unexpected given that they appear to be using Motorola MOTOTRBO XPR 3300e portables, which include enhanced noise suppression and audio processing.

I was in Niagara Falls, last Sept. at the Falls and Clifton Hill area. Nice area, I was impressed at how nice and clean the area was. Of course, I took my trusted BCD 436HP with me for the trip, while I didn't really get a whole lot of sit down time with the scanner, I did have it on while on our little adventure downtown.
Don't think I found very much, but here's my .hpd file that I had used while I was there. I built this file with the frequencies that were in the database here and maybe a few other findings in the TAFL database as well. Maybe there's something in here that you don't have already I don't know, who knows? But I thought I'd share it with you in case there was. I've been updating this file all along following your thread here.
