I spend about 45 minutes a day monitoring The OPP, in particular the Burlington and Niagara patch.

I heard a few recent calls in Niagara for zones 22 & 21. Can't remember where the calls were, one of them I think was for a tunnel.

Have Niagara changed their zones up? Are the following highways 58 & 140 and the Welland tunnel have their own zones now?

I'll pay more attention to dispatch and hope that they give out zones on their calls.

TIA

Eric

I've been hearing the same thing, sounds like they may have reconfigured the zones and from what i hear also their call signs. Not hearing any 5-Gulf call signs any more for Niagara units, sounds the like are all 5-Charlie in combination with Burlington.

Niagara OPP amalgamated with Burlington OPP. You won't hear 5G anymore, everyone is 5C. The new zones (21, etc) are all the former Niagara Detachment area..

Interesting, I thought I wasn't hearing calls for Niagara as such, because I didn't hear any Gulf call signs.

Thank you for the information guys.

Brought my Home Patrol with me to work today and I heard plenty of Niagara officers being referred to as Charlie. Normally I take my 396T with me and it doesn't have The Rids so....

Are there any other detachments that merged?
