Niagra Region PD, APCO25 Encrypted???

I am currently in Niagra Region and have programmed all of the frequencies into the scanner, have a new BC796D with APCO 25 capability, however the encryped voice channels come out garbled since they are encrypted, is there anyway to solve this issue?

If someone could get back ASAP that would be great..thanks

I'm not sure what your question is. Your radio is working fine.

Lock out the encrypted channels (not sure why you programmed them in since they're encrypted) and you won't have to listen to the garbled audio anymore.

Mainly i was asking if there is anyway around the encrypted part.....if there isnt i dont see the point of posting them in the database if no one can actually listen to them...

If we didn't post them then people would wonder why there are no entries for Niagara and ask for the frequencies on here.

By including them in the database as encrypted, people can see the frequencies are available but you can't listen to them.

It also heads off the "I found this frequency and wonder what it is" questions.

Most people realize that there's really no way around digital encryption and don't enter the frequencies in.
