Niles Fire Department now responding to all priority one ambulance calls in the City of Niles. They are on frequency 460-600. They consists of a comination of First Responders and paramedates.

Port Huron has been doing this since 1996 now..

All this does is beef their runs so they can get more funding. Least thats how the Chief put it to me.

Hmmmmmmmm Very Interesting, I never thought of that. I wonder why the Niles City Council would give them more money, they added no addtional firemen, they added no additional hours and/or pay for the firemen. I wonder what the extra money goes for?

More calls means a need for more state funding.

Just like Police, they will make stats go up and down depending on the need for more money or man power.
