I live in the northern end of Berrien County and haven't heard of any plans by them. Besides Niles Twp PD, they are the only law enforcement agency in the southern end of the county that hasn't moved to MPSCS.

I heard that Niles put in for a Homeland Security grant to help buy the new MPSCS radios. However, I don't know if it's been approved yet or not?

Niles City PD is still on i hear them all the time but niles city and niles twp pd run together they built a new building and as far as i know MSP,niles twp pd and niles city are all in the new building now but i only hear niles city and twp pd i havent heard berrien county in a long time just let me know if anything changes

wildthing, You haven't heard Berrien County for a long time because they moved to MPSCS! This is the same system that Van Buren County, the Michigan State Police and the Michigan D.N.R. are all using!
Also I havn't heard or read anything about Niles putting in for a Homeland Security grant for new radios.
I understand that the fire departments in Berrien County went to new frequencies. I been told 2 stories about this, one is that they stayed on the old band! The other story is they went to the new MPSCS sytem.

- Some departments respond on the 11F911 talkgroup on MPSCS if they have a radio in the truck.
- They do have the new freqs. Last I heard they were still getting them setup in the radios. For some, new radios were required to be purchased. The new freqs:

154.25
159.315
159.405
2 are supposedly wide-band freqs + 5 additional low-watt freqs. It appears that 151.295 and 151.37 are the wideband ones.

Buchanan PD is digital. Their FD is still dispatched on VHF, but I hear the trucks respond on MPSCS.
As for Cass, Last I knew they were still on high band. I did hear some simulcasting on digital, but that's about it.

Yep, Buchanan Police is digital! I not real sure about Buchanan Fire, I haven't heard them dispatch on the VHF Berrien County Fire Dispatch for quite a while! In fact, Waterveilet, Coloma and St. Joe townshp is the only fire calls i heard dispatched on the VHF Berrien County Dispatch Frequency.
Cass County Sheriff is still on 155-595 and 154-830.
Cass County Sheriff's Fire Dispatch is still 153.890.
Cass County Road Commision is still 151.055.
