I live a 4 iron from one on the new 700 PSIC sites that is co located with the old NJSP 800 system.

I obviously get a smoking signal from the site.

I have noticed that ANY squelch setting above 2 on the 700 PSIC will shut down the passing of ANY P25 TG's.

So, when I scan mixed conventional and PSIC, the setting must be so low that the 996XT stops on conventional channels white noise. Not good.

This does not occur when listening to P25 on the 800 site or any other P25.

Anyone else see this with the Uniden 996XT?

Have you tried using the attenuator on this site and seeing if that makes a difference? I have not noticed this myself and I am several miles from the Berlin site.

I agree with trying that option - I was vacationing a few years ago in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Our hotel was less than 1000 feet from the local Sussex County tower site for the state TRS, and I had to use the attenuator at times.

The damn scanner received full 5x9 copy without it's antenna on!

Attenuator was tried and did not help. This is unique to this system. Not good.
