Can the Department of Environmental Protection Tg's be moved from Outside Agencies Talkgroups to have their own Talkgroups in the 800MHz system? .

Anyone else seeing encrypted Traffic on 52272?

My Unitrunker shows a Bordentown Car, SP Marine Unit, and a 10 Comm Console all using it today.

That's interesting because I haven't seen activity on it for a few weeks now and I have nothing on my end today.

No use in getting excited here! Pretty soon every channel they have will probly be encrypted! Just like everyone else is doing! Not that I blame anyone because the world is so wacky anymore with so many terrorists and criminals that id rather have them encrypted too for all our safety! Would you really want isis listening in???

I spoke to my friend about this last month - there is no budget for the conversion right now.

NJSP cars roam on and off the 700Mhz New Jersey Interoperability Communication System (NJICS), and that is P25 Phase I .

Most of that sounds like patches from the 800 system to the 700 system.

I did see a newer consolette base station radio at the Red Lion barracks a while back. I couldn't tell if it was an XLT or an APX. It had an O5 control head so it could have been either or.

Even if a trooper is carrying an older XTS2500, that unit is capable of operating on 700 & 800 (assuming the flash options are correct for Type-II and P25 operation). With the future of NJICS to be 100% TDMA at some point, I know the state is working to get as many radios upgraded to APX units as the budget allows.

There are no patches. The SmartX makes the 3600 Smartzone sites appear as sites to the P25 core which runs PSIC. There are not two trunking systems - just one. If the state runs gold elite consoles they are also looped in via SmartX. This allows them to have a Gold Elite Op and a MCC7500 op on the same system.

Site access is controlled via software which says that this talkgroup is allowed on this site when requested by this subscriber ID.

Usually you will hear NJSP talkgroups on PSIC if there is a consolette or subscriber on an RF site which is allowed to carry the talkgroup. This often happens when you hear a hot job and all of a sudden you hear the talkgroup over the PSIC system when you never heard it before. If there are no authorized radios on the site you are listening to subscribed to the talkgroup then you will never hear audio pass for that talkgroup.
