NJ state police..help

Hello all
I was wondering if anyone knew what the best state trooper freq/ids to put in the scanner? (Pro-95) There is so many, but wich ones are for the north patrol area B? Some say some don't.I don't want them ALL.. Just the one for the northern area.. I live in Passaic County..

You need to set up a Motorola Type II trunked system and put the 12 frequencies listed for Troop B. Then the talkgroups that you would be interested in listening to.

I did all that. All 13 freq's. Some of the talk groups I dont understand what they are for..
(statecom 2, statecom 3, interagency statecom 1 north,5-COMM Dispatch, car-to-car/spen simulcast, SPARE?, USAR Rescuc 1, ect....)
Are all these for the north jersey? They come up with the patrol area B wich is for my area.
And what is the job of some of these talk groups.. I don't want to put in ids for stuff I really don't want to hear.. Is there a sheet with more info as far as what each id is for..

On that web site there is a NJSP .pdf file that explains which road stations are dispatched on which TG.

Not sure on a lot of them what they are for but 5 Comm on Troop B I believe is for Perryville and Somerville. The car-to-car/SPEN I think is a patch between the trunk system (troopers) and the Statewide highband SPEN channel (local town/county) units.

Someone else more familiar may be able to help you out with the other talkgroup descriptions.

Go to http://nosoup4u.net:8080/scanner/NJSP.pdf site. You can put in the talk groups as follows:

For Troop B put them all in.

For Troop D put in 3 Comm Patrols North (Newark Station). Turnpike

For Troop E put in 2 Comm Patrols North (Bloomfield Station). Parkway

Also any other talk groups with the letter B and numbers after them, under the "Designator" column, are for Troop B System. Any talk groups that show A/B/C with numbers, under the "Designator" column, are common to all systems. Any talk groups that don't have a "Designator" column with letters and numbers are also common to all systems. Some may be for North. Central or South. If you want to monitor them put in the ones for "North".

If your scanner is "Control Channel Only" capable, you only need the 4 control channels.

anything ending in .9625(except for 856.9625)

Since you have the PRO-95, there is a very nice freeware program that can help make your programming a lot easier. Try this site

http://www.starrsoft.com.

The WIN 95 program has worked great for many of us and Don Starr is
DA MAN when it comes to these radios. All you'll need is the cable that you can get at your local Rat Shack and that's only 16.95.

I got lucky/smart, I got this stuff like 3 days after I got the scanner. Thanks to everyone on this site.. I helps a lot. I would still be programing the freq's in.
