Troop C barracks at Allenwood (195/138 & RT.34-Wall Twp) is slated to close sometime in the near future. Hamilton Station will assume this patrol area. Due allegedly to further budget cuts with the NJ Dept. of Public Safety and therefore the NJSP.

At that point, Hamilton Station will be responsible for all of 195, and areas from Shrewsbury Borough/Monmouth County to Rocky Hill and the Central NJ-PA bridge patrols.

Concideration is being given to having Bordentown Station take over the remainder of I-295
to compensate.

cuts

I did'nt think they could cut out any more and still be effective. the wear and tear on whatever cars are left having to drive the additional milage will finish them off. I would like to know how this saves any money.

I heard this last year (or maybe longer) that they were thinking of closing Allenwood. But then I thought I read that it was decided to keep it open.

savings

this is another example of the corrupt politicians in NJ telling the public how much their saving us, they always seem to forget to tell the same public how much more it is costing us.

Its actually not the politicians fault on this one...well kinda not their fault
The allenwood barracks is rented the state does not own it. The person who owns the building & property is selling it.

Not knowing much about the operations of the NJSP, but what are they doing with the old Holmdel station? Didn't they move everyone to Sayreville a year or two ago? Why not use the Holmdel building if it is vacant? I believe their Lincroft station is leased also, though not a very big building at all.
