Okay,

So today I couldn't believe my ears when I heard P25 (not vselp) traffic while in search-mode listening to the usual Troop C East/West TGs.

I held on to the new TG 41040 and listened for about 15 mins of P25 encrypted traffic.

I hadn't seen anything posted about this and was taken by surprise. I suppose when they upgraded to SmartNet II they also included P25 capable TRS repeaters too.

Anyone else know anything about which services are running P25 on the statewide TRS?

P.S. I have verified this on a second radio as well.

That would be REMU's (radio maint / repair) P25 channel.

Nothing else digital I know of on the south or Central system....yet.

I heard them several month ago on the same ID. Wasn't sure if it was encripted or not since I was getting it with my 780 at the time.
