Anyone else notice the marine troopers on the NJSP trunk system, at times when they are talking to dispatch from a boat they sound like they are in a hollow tube. I first noticed it a couple days ago. It was on there a lot today on C3-10. Could be a mic set-up inside a helmet ? Has a very different sound.

Okay, Thinking now maybe it's a digital thing or something. I heard the same thing with a road trooper on state hwy 55 this morning on A1-4. It's a hit and miss thing and I have heard it on two different scanners [796D and 396T]. Even the dispatcher complained about the sound of the radio.
