In my free time, for the heck of it, I've been working on a GoogleEarth file depicting the sites of the NJSP, NJICS, and NJTA trunked systems with their ranges per the database. I figured it might come in handy for something to myself or some of you. It's not perfect, and some sites may be off by a few miles due to limited availability of, or unclear references. If anyone has any corrections or additions, feel free to note them and I'll update and repost.

Please note: I do not believe the NJTA site ranges in the database to be completely accurate, however they are shown as they are in the RRDB for the moment until they are corrected in the RRDB or further researched.

Red Radius = NJICS P25 Site Range
Blue Radius = NJSP SmartZone Type II Site Range
Green Radius = NJTA P25 Site Range

RadioDitch,
Great work. Small note here:
FYI for the Wall NJICS site / NJSP Central Simulcast "Allenwood" site - The NJSP tower used for NJICS/NJSP 800 is the one directly on the other side of the parkway. It's on the southbound side of the GSP there.
Keep up the good work!

This is pretty cool! My side project recently was making an excel spreadsheet similar to the database with every talkgroup of the NJSP and NJICS systems, divided or multiplied by 16.

One thing to consider is that at least on the 800 side, some of these IR sites are directional. Montana Mountain generally points to the South West, and the Bedminster site from what I have experienced is pointed West, I would assume to fill in the Route 78 coverage between 287 and Clinton.

I tried finding a way to reflect that but unfortunately GoogleEarth doesn't offer a variable angle/directional radius yet. Allegedly it's one of the tools planned for future pro updates.

Thanks Cash. I'll correct that.

Doesnt have the Hardyston site in there (yet). But I am sure that will be added once its on the air.

I left Hardyston off cause last I heard, the hardware isn't completely there. The site at Echo Lake Stables in Newfoundland is complete, and everything is on the tower. It's just not yet on-air.

True, Hardyston hardware is not there yet. But its expected to be there in another month or so. Hardline and power are installed, so once the rack shows, it should be just a matter of backhaul and some tweaking. Great for all those skiiing on the other side of the mountain!

Do you have the exact location for the site? I have notes on two different coordinates, and I also wasn't sure if it's the Mountain Creek tower or the site that CBMA was installing a Verizon fiber backhaul for.

Also any time frame on the Newfoundland (West Milford) site going online, or are they waiting for all three to be active?

In addition to the Sussex simulcast linked above...

Passaic Simulcast
WRER710 (NEW JERSEY, STATE OF) FCC Callsign Details (STA for the Ramapo site, which will become part of the simulcast due to some co-channel issues with the new MTA system for the current set of frequencies)

Hunterdon Simulcast

Mercer Simulcast

Note to self. Never update a file until GTR8000 speaks. I should know better.

So for Hunterdon Simulcast, is it only Milford, Franklin (Cherryville), Stockton, and KIngwood? The Wiki indicated differently.

The Wiki indicates: Franklin, Kingwood, Montana Mountain, and Princeton.

Those licenses are for the future realignment of some of the sites. They will be using each county's 700 allocations (SY) instead of the state allocation at those sites to form new simulcast cells. High Point and Walpack, for example, will be combined with Hamburg to form a 3-site cell using Sussex's frequencies, which were turned over to the state. Eventually the two current ASR sites will no longer use their current state allocation frequencies, so they can be reused elsewhere.

I suspect that the Hunterdon cell will eventually differ from what it currently is. I'm not sure what the Wiki shows (is that from my old map?), however I'm showing Hunterdon, Montana Mtn, Kingwood, Princeton, Easton, and Holland as the current cell subsites. No guarantee that's correct!
