Snow Emergency Feed Online

I just started a stream of the NJTP Passport trunked system primary operations talkgroups for Southern Division from the Mt. Laurel site (closest to my home).

http://phillyscanner.bounceme.net:5701

You can use Winamp or ITunes to access this on a desktop and Tunemark for the iPhone/iPod Touch.

Weather reports on the top of the hour here.

Will have this up for the remainder of the snow emergency.

Sorry but audio is a little distored because the sound card in my laptop only accepts mic (lo line input).

Oh Yea Scott!

I'm using a custom program I developed a while ago and modified it today to accept the invered data from this system. I am using several custom circuits also to feed my program. I can't believe it's working myself!

Joe, the audio quality is superb! I am listening with Windows Media Player.

Just heard the weather report - District 1 already has 14 inches on the roadway.

Great feed - thank you for putting this up!

When I listen on my own scanner I hear loud annoying data bursts on some channels. I understand the scanner will not monitor it properly, but I am just curious to those data bursts.

If it sounds like continuous key ups every 1 sec, it's the status updates generated by the passport trunking site controller. If you mean what sounds like squealing, that's data transmissions on the system. I have no idea what type of data is sent on the system.

Thanks for putting this stream up. Audio sounds great. NJ Turnpike system was always one of my favorite channels to listen to during storms, very happy I can listen to it during this storm!

I woulda swore you had a HT1250-LS or CDM1550-LS feeding the audio - nice job on the 100% homebrew solution!

Hi Scott,

I'm using an ICOM R7000 receiver.

Using a Connect Systems LT-2 LTR decoder with the low-pass filter slicer tapped. Using PIC microchip to bit bang the data and a custom program written in C to read the data and control the ICOM.

Can you post a few pictures of the decoder/software running...screen shots, etc. I'd like to see your handywork.
