SDS-200 mobile installation. I have an available NMO mount that currently has a PL-259 termination. Is it possible to use a NMO GPS antenna and somehow get that into the RJ-11 GPS connection on the 200?

Alternatively, are there GPS pucks available that will work without buying the $90 Uniden kit, most of which I don’t need?

The GPS input to these radios requires an NMEA 'string'.
If your question is about just an antenna, then no.

The device needs to be an active (powered) device, outputting NMEA data.

The Uniden GPS "PUCK" works fine on the dash. it uses regular 4 wire phone cable and Jack's so nothing bulky.

If you use an extension, make sure that it's four wire. Just thought I'd mention that. :)

Assaid people get confused on GPS antenna often. There are 2 version. One is truly and antenna and one has the receiver built in. The NMO is just an antenna so it reuires a reciver to see sattalites, then convert to NEMA for our scanner.
