I have a magnetic nmo mount. I know when you install an nmo thru a hole in the roof, the roof acts as a ground plane. With the magnet, there is not a definite ground.
If I ran a wire with an aligator clip from the body ground under the dashboard, to the outer part of the connector, where it meets the scanner, would that use the roof as a ground plane the same way as if it was mounted thru a hole in the center of the roof?
Thanks
