I'm gunna retire my Radio Shack mag mount and I need a NMO mount antenna for my Pro 2055. I had a CB antenna mounted on the roof when I got the van and took it off when I got my scanner. I have the cable thru the hole and sealed with silicone, with the scanner mounted on the headliner with the bracket.
I plan on mounting my 2055 in the DIN sleeve where the ashtray/cigarette lighter was in the dogbox cover. The hole for the antenna is drilled aft of the dome light and I'll need to route the cable down the A pillar on the passenger side over to the center of the dashboard. Looks as if I'll need a 90° connector for the antenna and 10 - 15 ft of cable and then a 90° BNC connector.
I want a good performer on VHF Hi, Air/MilAir bands and 800 too. Also I need a relatively short or a very flexible unit for clearance thru a few low underpasses I have to pass under (my mag mount just lays over & I hafta flip it back up).
I know that's asking alot.......is it possible?
