Our State & Local PDs (Louisiana) are now on 700 frequencies. Seems my BCD396T is incapable of having that programmed in. I'm no scanner programmer expert, but I tried to add in 700.000 just in case and it will not allow.

I did a search on 700 for Uniden and it seems a few threads are saying otherwise, i.e. it is capable of receiving the signals. I did read one thread that mentioned this scanner skips from 5xx-7xx. I closed the thread so don't remember the exact range.

Can someone enlighten me if and how this scanner can be programmed if possible, let me know if no it can't?

Thanks and regards,

That's because 700.0 MHz is not part of the public safety band, and thus would be out of band.
The 700 MHz public safety band I believe starts up around 763 MHz. Somebody correct me please if I'm wrong.

Sorry, but I don't think that patch does the 700 upgrade actually, I thought I read it did, but reading now it only mentions 800 rebanding they did in 3.2, I think I'm confusing that readme with something else I read, maybe a post on here..maybe the 700 reband is the one they said something about paying for..in the future.

Don't need a firmware upgrade. The 396T will do 700mhz, starting at 764.0000.
764.0000 - 775.9875 MHz
794.0000 - 823.9875 MHz
There is no rebanding for 700mhz area.
