Does anyone know why I might have stopped hearing richmond fire dispatch but can still monitor richmond fire TAC channels? I would be thankful for any help.

I cannot think of any reason you would not be able to hear the Richmond FD other than they probably do not say a whole lot these days unless they have something going down. I believe they are using an automatic dispatch system similar to the one DC uses. That may be one reason. There are just not that many fires anymore (thank goodness) plus Richmond FD does not do a lot of EMS runs do they? But I think the radio is up and in the clear.

The RFD is running plenty of fire calls as well as EMS... You might want to check your programming to make sure the control channels are correct, since rebanding has occurred.

VFN137 is correct, RFD is doing about 100 runs/day (just shy of 600 fires last year), so you should be hearing plenty of traffic. The automated dispatch is still monitorable on the scanner.
