No ALPHA Display for 898T ????

I would buy this scanner in a heartbeat, but is it true that it does NOT have an alpha display??

You might want to go the extra little bit, if you can afford it, and get a scanner that you can plug into a computer to help you manage all of your frequencies. It really makes a huge difference.

It doesn't do digital either - it's not a high end unit.

The BC898T does have PC program/control options.
Our ARC898T software will display channel alpha tags when scanner is operated under PC control.

It amazes me that they didn't include this function with the unit. It's almost a necessity today with trunk systems / talk groups. Frequncies are pretty easy to remember, but talk groups, being numbered so closely together, are much more difficult to remember. Granted, software can provide this function, but it shouldn't be necessary. I think we would all be willing to spend the few dollars more it would cost to have this function. I was going to purchase one until I found out it wasn't available. Just my nickles worth.
