SDRTrunk No audio SDRTrunk + Nooelec NESDR Mini 2

Hi, I'm running SDRTrunk with a Nooelec NESDR Mini 2 and trying to tune into Champaign County Metcad. I can see activity in the display, but there are no actual sounds. No obvious issues with recent logs either. Any ideas? Thanks!

The site spans 2.7625mhz and the dongle may yield you 2.4mhz. Its also not shown you locked on a signal. Click the tuners tab, then click your tuner, and post a screen shot.

You are not tuned to any control channel associated with the system. I suspect you have not configured the system properly. We need screenshots of your Playlist Editor showing your control channel list for this system.

His first post, second pic shows 853.825 as control which is listed as such on the site. Either its not active or he cant receive it, or he does not have the rest of them programmed in.

He needs a higher sample rate. The site is 2.7625mhz and sample rate is set to 2.4. Not sure exactly what usable on that model.

In the spectrum of the two screenshots he has provided thusfar, only cch 852.5625 is not visualized. Perhaps this is the active control channel. OTOH, he may be out of range of the system. We need more info about how he has configured the system in SDRT and how close he is to the nearest tower site.

It appears that you have created a separate system for each channel of the Champaign trunking system - don't do that. Pick one of the systems that you created, and in the Source section, you add all the possible control channels - they would be:

852.5625c	853.1375c	853.525c	853.825c

Delete all the other systems that you crated for each channel.

So when you created the system, looks like you selected Frequencies - All and Configuration - For Each Frequency






You can do control and alts, and single. Gives the system 1 line in your channels tab and has everything it needs to play. Should look like this.



Then click the system and hit Play. You screenshot shows its not playing.

Show the Now Playing tab and the tuner tab, with the dongle selected.

Now we need to see the Now Playing page including the spectrum. You did not answer the question about your approximate monitoring location which is important - pick an intersection nearby so we can plot where you are with respect to where the nearest tower site is located.

For monitoring location, how about Wiley and Pennsylvania in Urbana IL (61801). Here are a couple more screenshots that are hopefully what you asked for.

You are not far from the Main St site - well within range. The problem is I don’t see any evidence of an active control channel in the spectrum waterfall. I’d discard any system that you have created and start over.

It's possible. Have you posted in the Illinois forum about monitoring this system? There are software tools that could help you determine active control channels that you are able to receive by monitoring chunks of spectrum. But to be honest, it's most likely that you have borked your configuration somewhere - which is why I suggested that you start over.

If your ppm is off and your Frequency Rotation Delay is set to low, you will not lock on.

Try bumping the Frequency Rotation Delay to around 1000.



Your sample rate is also set for 2.4mhz which will only let you see that much on the spectrum, and the site spans 2.76mhz. Your screenshot also illustrates this because there are only 3 out of the four control channels visible on your spectrum.

I would try stopping the channel, setting the rate to 3.2, then restart the channel and see what that does.
