No audio with BCD996t

I bought a 996t off a guy here on RR. He didn't mention anything about the no audio problem. I just got it, but have to head out to work.

I have no audio with the internal speaker, no audio with an external speaker, and very, very, little audio coming out on the REC line(have to crank it clear open). Any ideas what it could be?

plug in headphones and see if you get audio through them. could be a stuck headphone switch, a known problem. Search the forum for more.

I use headphones a lot, and exercise the plug pretty frequently to avoid getting mine stuck.

I had one and had to send it back the connection inside the radio at the speaker was bad. 2weeks and 50-$60 later it worked. My friend had the same issue. Its a know problem.

It appears the "switch" is stuck. I guess I will head out and get some amplified speakers.

ask uniden if they'll honor it under warranty. It's a known issue.
