Running ARC-500 on a Win10 laptop. When I call for a RadioReference download, the application throws a RadioReference WebService tells me I have no internet connection. That, of course, is not true. It also tells me that it can't load WSDL site; check firewall settings. I have told Windows to allow ARC-500 through the firewall; I have specifically allowed port 80 open in both directions. Still no connection. What is happening here; and how can the program be convinced that the computer is connected to the web?

Thank you.

Interesting. My copy of the program, which I installed only over the weekend, tells me I'm entitled to two free downloads before I have to subscribe.

I am not a premium subscriber. I do all of my own programming from scratch. You may need to create an account with a password to use the free downloads. Also, you may need to register the program before you can do the downloads. If anyone else has that information, please jump in.

Yes, please jump in, because I am under the impression, based upon programming information for the PRO-197 scanner (that I am trying to reprogram), that those two downloads require no hoops, just connect and go.

I have ARC500 and tried to connect for the download. I can't do anything without a username and password. I did not get a response of "no internet". Have you tried it again? The database sometimes is unavailable while updating. What do you want to monitor with your Pro-197? I have one also. I might be able to help you out. What is your city, county, and state?

I have only gotten a response of "no internet." Tried several times, even after, as I mentioned, making allowances for both the ARC-500.exe file and to open port 80 generally. I'm trying to reach Harford County, Maryland, which the database shows as "Deprecated" for all but one entry (and I haven't had the time to run down what "Deprecated" means in context; I'm familiar with its use in the computer world, especially in HTML).

I have no way of knowing at this point if Wormcast, under its ecch-finity alias, is blocking anything; but it doesn't seem to be blocking anything else. Can you recommend a method to determine whether they're blocking the db?

FWIW,
You should see this screen.
These are the conventional selections available..

"Deprecated" means the frequency is no longer believed to be in use, But has not been removed yet.
It is the status assigned by RR DB Admins prior to being removed.
I don't know how you can get 2 downloads for free without some login credential to RR..

Harford County is now on the CMARC system. I live in Baltimore County and program scanners for a lot of Harford County firefighters. Here is a ARC500 file with everything you will need: Check out the ScanLists in the Global Settings. Save the attached zipped file to your computer and extract. Open the extracted file with ARC500 and Upload to Scanner.

When ARC500 software is purchased from Radio Reference, it includes 2 free downloads.

Your screen shot appears to show the Win500 import screen.
The OP stated he is using ARC500.

The Ops scan lists have the dispatch, response, and fireground/incident talkgroups. Med scan lists have the EMRC talkgroups. The Misc scan lists have the remainder of talkgroups. The FAV scan list has the Harford Co Ops talkgroups.

My Bad.. I just realized the op was using ARC500, not Win500. None the less it works the same..

Sorry to add further confusion.
It must come with some complimentary login credential for the freebies to be downloaded.
But if you can't even get to this screen, then there's another issue that needs dealt with.

I sort of figured that's what "deprecated" meant in context; but I wasn't sure.

As to the download freebies, perhaps it was a deal between RR and Radio Shack. The program was bundled with an RS programming cable. Saw an open RS store in southern MD the other weekend; surprised the three of us in the car.

Thank you for your file. Do you possibly have access to Cecil County as well?

Cecil Co is on the Maryland FIRST system which is P25 Phase 2. York Co PA is Phase 2 also. The Pro-197 is capable of Phase 1 only and cannot receive Cecil or York Co. Cecil dropped its VHF dispatch frequency.

That is amazing!
If you made the purchase in that store.. The free deal probably expired quite a while ago..

No, I didn't buy the s/w and cable in that store; one much closer to me that hasn't existed for maybe three or four years. It existed when I posted back in 2015 about losing my freebies after I installed the s/w on my previous computer and lost the freebies when I foolishly accepted the s/w's offer to upgrade itself. Believe me, we were just as amazed to find that store as you are.
