hello all, i own a p.o.s. pro-2055, and have lost all lowband reception, no am weather or im anything unless im about 5 miles from site. 400 mhz up works great thru the 900 mhz, trunk systems and all, anyone have any ideas, thanks

AM weather? Do you mean the NWS FM frequencies at 162 Mhz? Are you saying you can't hear any of these? What kind of antenna are you using if it's not the back of the set telescoping one? It's unusual to lose one part of a radio's reception and yet have the rest of the bands come in fine. The first thing I would suspect is the antenna or the antenna center conductor connection in the radio.

Maybe there aren't any Low Band operations in you area anymore. Many cities and towns and counties are moving from Low Band. Low band is considered 30-50 Megahertz and is mostly FM, the radio defaults to FM.

found problem

i found some burnt spots on the board under the soldered on metal cover over the bnc jack, my offical guess is my cb and its friend had a hand in it, so i have a good 2055 display, anyone interested. the am weather channel is from the local airport, just tried a am channel with the fm's,lol, the lowbands i listen to is cal chp, all in the 42 mhz range, my antenna's are a antenna specialist maxrad and a firestick 4 footer, both give great reception at 60 plus miles in my mobile, thanks for the help

If you're saying you were running an amplified CB mounted next to the 2055, that very well could explain why you've blown some finals on the circuit board. Bad idea, as you've apparenty found out the hard way.
