WS1098: no main appl code!

got the dreaded code listed above.

i have tried 2 separate computers as well as hard format of the SD card via two external card readers, and i cannot get my 1098 to get past that screen.

what am i doing wrong?

I think this means that updating the CPU firmware has failed.
You need to try updating it again.
Don't panic, you can't permanently brick these scanner, the boot loader will always be there ready to accept new firmware.

how to i get to the boot loader?

im ready to just do a full hard reset

Go to whistler website, support, downloads, select your scanner, download the cpu app updater. That will load the firmware back on the radio.
