No more scanners in RadioShack?

I was in my local RadioShack yesterday, and I didn't see any scanners. They had 3 or 4 handheld models last year. Is it just this RS or are they getting rid of scanners?

I was at my local rat shack about a month ago and i ask what police scanner's were on sale she said well we have a few you like hewlett packard or compaq...lol

The stores should be doing resets. Thats if they are doing what they are supposed to be doing, so they may have had the section off the floor temporarily while they moved some things around.

Still plenty of scanners at the local RS's here. I got a Pro-97 this week specifically for some LTR sleuthing.

It depends on which store you're in - we have 2 nearby (one with scanners, the other without). So I'm told, it depends on the number of units they move (which is odd in my mind - because if you don't carry any, you're not going to move many).

It’s just another screwy management technique - personally, I don't shop their stores anymore (I'm waiting for them to get back on track again). Even the small items I would purchase frequently are no longer available in the stores (the little %$#%$# ^%^%$ behind the counter told me to shop the Inernet Store) - so, I took my business elsewhere.

Yes our Shack has about every model listed on the website, what was even more amazing was the young lady I asked this morning for a 2096 actually knew what it was and went straight to them.

Both RS stores in Traverse City are fully stocked with scanners, at least they were last week.

I actually work at a store here in the Dallas area, and I have not heard anything about the company dropping their scanner line. We still receive software updates for scancat on our store systems, so i dont think we will get rid of scanners any time soon
