• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

just got a pro-57 that when programmed, there is no response in any channel. but when i program the same way with a uniden bc147xlt there are lots of receptions. both scanner are using the same antenna and both program with local public safty channel. Is it because pro-57 only work in FM mode? second question is does a uniden bc147xlt work in both AM & FM mode? (just want to make sure.)

Try adjusting the squelch. As for the uniden, read your manual or google it. I don't have any unidens but if it has the Air band then yes it has the AM mode.
BTW, if your using a Pro-57 then I'm sure your public safety channel is most likely VHF, around 150MHz FM, not AM.
