BCD396T/BC996T: No sig on MOT VHF syst when serial cable is plug

Good day all,

I've been having an issue with my BCD396T. It works perfectly except when I want to log Motorola system with ProScan. I get signal from the nearby tower at 4-5 bars and as soon as I plug the serial cable into the radio, I no longer get a signal on the tower, even when I stop manualy on the tower's freq. I tried moving the radio around and it did nothing, It log perfectly for the other system in the area (P25 and EDACS)

Why is this happening? Is there something I can do to fix this?

RF noise from your PC is coming into the scanner through the serial cable, swamping the front end and causing RF AGC to cut back incoming signal. Use a cable that has a ferrite/RF choke in-line.
