Just downloaded win 96 to my 2096. Now the squelch doesnt work. Is this normal or did I do something wrong?

In digital mode the scanner ignores the squelch setting. It breaks audio silence when a proper digital signal is received regardless of the squelch setting.
The software has NO effect on the squelch there are no settings in wiin96 that will have anything to do with the squelch. what system or frequencies did you import if any?, in short the squelch has no software programmable settings. if ya like post your p96 file & others can look it over for you.

The radio keeps the squelch turned off unless it runs across a programmed TG and then it opens it up and you hear it. It's the same way on conventional channels that you program with the tone codes.

I just dont hear the static when it is turned all the way counterclockwise
There is no squelch on trunking talkgroups or digital trunking of talkgroups...Put in a conventional freqy like a ham freqy with "FM" selected and you should hear squelch....
