Not on rs 197,HP1,Sds 100? Specifically VSP I know they are active doing accidents I hear them requested to the scene. But I have lived here full-time for 6 years never heard anything? I even brought my sds100 with me to Virginia beach nothing, Actually, I picked up nothing at all? Even using the database and not my favorites. Thanks in advance if anyone could shed some light on the subject.
No STARS on eastern shore of Virginia on any of my scanners?

Silent key.
Division 5 is fairly active Chesa 1 and 2 on STARS and there are 2 sites on the eastern shore one in Accomac and one in Eastville

Post your SDS100 f_list.cfg and .hpd file containing the STARS system as attachments here with .txt file extensions.
You might need to enter on turn on the Chesapeake and Virginia Beach sites so that you get control channel? Their channels are working fine in Virginia Beach. There are 2 channels. I am looking at the control channel output on the SDRTrunk program and here it's 152.1575. The second one is 152.7875mhz. I live right under Plaza tower so I don't even need an antenna to hear them and VB. The second one, though, is the actual control for the main division 5 site in Chesapeake. It's also displaying 152.0375 mhz as a secondary control channel now too.
I have all whatever the database has in it? And didn't receive anything while in Virginia beach? And at home on Eastern shore nothing at all on stars?
I see the sites on display while scanning but nada?

I loaded from sds100 software and loaded what I thought I needed to favorites. But even with full database from software nothing? same with hp1, I have misplaced my win500 files if it would even work with that scanner, But @ this point, it doesn't work with any scanner!

If you don't post the files we can't look for any possible mis-configuration within them.
I cannot explain that then. Control in Va.Beach is 152.5175 mhz. I have all their traffic loud and clear on both the PC program and my BCD325P2. In fact, I get VHF control even in locations my scanner fails to receive 800/700mhz channels. I think the answer may be your radio. If you can see the control channel displayed, but there's no decoded audio, it's something wrong with the electronics or setup. On the 325 you have to have both the quick key number and the group number matched and both turned on. Otherwise, you do see the control channel without any audio at all. However, I don't know the procedures to set up your radio if you don't have the model I do. They are all at least, slightly different. I hope that helps. I have an RTL-SDR dongle that I use with SDR Trunk. I download frequencies and talkgroups from radio reference automatically and it works great. The dongle only costs about $25 and you must provide a good antenna.
Is there something preventing you from posting your programming files? People are willing to help you, but you need to give them something to work with.

I may be able to help you with the Pro-197. If you can download the codeplug from the scanner to WIN500 and save it then upload here I can take a look at it & hopefully fix your problem. No trouble with my Pro-106 here or the eastern shore.
Do you live in Virginia now? Your address in QRZ shows you in Harrington DE. Definitely won't receive STARS there....

First, make sure you've set your location correctly. Then turn off your favorite list and turn on the database. Most of the time the problem is deleting too much from the system when making the favorite list, or an erroneous location setting.
Yes on Chincoteague. I thought I updated my address on QRZ. Maybe too far away? But that still doesn't explain why I couldn't receive when I went to Virginia beach?

Do you have any of your service types off? If you set your scanner to the full database, then you oughta hear something! LOL
Accomack County has a STARS site so you should at least be hearing that one, and probably Northampton County as well.
On your Uniden scanners make sure you have nothing set to off under Select Service Types
Everything open just to check, Everything I can pick up in range except STARS? no state PD

Plug your scanner into your computer and post a zip file of the contents from your favorites_list folder on the scanner to here as an attachment. Until you do that, nobody here can help you. Multiple posters above have asked you to do that, and you still have not done so.

The reason is I'm not using my favorites list. Using the database with everything on, So my reasoning is if I cant receive that way then I guess it is not working for whatever reason? But I would think other people in the area would have the same problem if it was the database!

Then post a picture of what your scanner looks like while in scan mode, specifically on the STARS system.
