I have not had my sds100 scanner connected to my windows running on mac with parrallels since last August. Everything used to work fine. Now it has no virtual display. I can boot in Mass storage and see my favorites. When I try to boot in serial mode nothing on display.
when I look for com port it says nothing available.
Thanks for any advice. I'm sure it will all come back o me sooner or later

update...... When running proscan on windows laptop. Everything works as expected.
Now trying to run on Macbook using parralels 17 and windows 10. I have ran this before so I dont understand why I can not get virtual display to work. Com port is set to 10 on both windows and proscan.
Display is black on computer however I can switch to mass storage and read and write to scanner. To me this eliminates cable problems.Any Ideas?

OK....I downgraded my Parallels to 17.0 from 17.1 and OOOLA!! everything works now. So it is a problem with Parallels 17.1.
Thanks for all your help. Maybe this will help someone else for a temp fix for now😏
And thank YOU for telling us what worked for you :) Not all OPs come back to a thread after they find a solution and we're often left wondering what happened

When you were using 17.1, did you try removing and re-installing the driver that worked under 17.0?
That may be worth a try but I'm not sure as I've not used a Mac since the Mac Mini days when the first Intel based Mine was released!

No I didn’t. That may be something to try, though. I will play with it later when I have some time. Right now I am just enjoying it working.😁

I'm having the same issue with VMWare. It worked perfectly when I first got the radio, but something changed somewhere along the line. My wife has a Windows 10 laptop. I'll have to uninstall ProScan from the Mac/VMWare and give it a go on pure Windows and see if that works. Glad to know it's not just me.

I can edit favorites, just no realtime control or logging. :(

Did you follow this document KB Parallels: Adding USB devices through COM port to virtual machine to add your serial port?

I'm running Parallels 17.1.1 and don't have any problems accessing serial devices when I set them up according to the document. Before I could just select the serial device (usb->serial converter) and it would work. Now I use the procedure in the document to access serial devices.

Correction to my previous post... I'm using VirtualBox VM for Mac, not VMWare.

After spending hours and hours fiddling with this (and essentially giving up), @mikewazowski got me thinking and I tracked down the info on how to setup the serial port info for that environment and VIOLA!! She's working like a charm now.

I am very grateful for people who have more smarts and perseverance than I do. Thank you, Mike.
