I have had a Uniden WX500 set-up at home for some time now and today was the first time New York (KWO-35) 162.550 conducted a weekly test that set off the alert tones and message. Anyone know if the weekly test just started up again after a long absence or if my receiver just decided to randomly work for the first time today?

Wasn't it out of service for a long time? I know there were problems over the last few years, but I wasn't sure if and when it came back online.

Yes, the station was OOS for a while, but has been up for maybe the last 1-2 years? I have never had my alert set-off since they went back on the air. Maybe they finally got some gov't funding to replace their old encoder?
