NOAA weather

I can't get Noaa weather on my scanner, I hit WX button and it scans the channel but I get nothing but static
I am in Mahopac NY in Putnam County

check your squelch setting. Also,see if you get better reception in a different area in your listening location.could be some rf interference or possibly a problem with the bnc connector?!

Thanks I just out on the porch and it came in clear as a bell

Billy..you're in a strange area of NOAA coverage. Albany on 475 (Highland site) covers the warnings however I have always found Mahopac to be on the very edge of coverage. On 400 and 550 you actually are closer to those sites Ct and NYC respectively. If you haven't already you may want to check out which one really works best in reality.
