• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

Noah weather stations are coming in like crazy the last two days here in central illinois. I'm getting a station from Owensboro Ky. on 162.475, as well as (I think) Evansville,In on 162.55.

Unless your referring to the guy with the Ark, its spelled NOAA, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administrtion. No offense intended.

In some parts of the country right now, Noah might be the right term. :) Here in Alberta, our stations are too far apart to receive anything other than the normal on. 162.4 has a local one and 162.55 is over 150 miles away, no chance of reception.

They change the name to NOAH if there is going to be an extended period of rain.

From time to time, I'm able to pick up all 7 NOAA channels. Plus, Environment Canada on 161.650 & 161.775. Gotta love it when the bands are wide open.
