I heard NOFD fire alarm testing what sounded like station alert systems (such as Plectron, Zetron type). The dispatcher asked numerous stations if they received an audible and visual alert. Does anyone know if NOFD is testing or currently using a station alert system like the old Zetron they had before Katrina? If so, is it being used on a single channel frequency like before or used on the current 700/800 trunk system?
Thanks, tippey

the nofd has been testing recently and has been able to put silent mode back into effect along with the station alert tones which are similar in sound to some oddball emergency show tune ha. the frequency of 851.0375 is being used for data and the frequency of 806.0375 is being used for voice supposedly although i havent been able to listen or to get more detail. im not sure what their long term goals are for this system, and i am sure that many kinks still need to be addressed. hopefully they will be solved when their new 911 center is finished. Ill try and find out more info.

NOFD Silent Mode

Thanks for the info. I will start monitoring those frequencies and will pass along anything I hear.
Thanks again, tippeyb

851.0375 Voice Dispatch Confirmed

I have been monitoring 851.0375 and 806.0375 for a short time and did hear NOFD voice dispatching on 851.0375. The signal is pretty weak here in Metairie with a BCD396 and a rubber duck. I didn't hear anything on 806.0375 yet, it maybe the input for 851.0375.

I also Can Confirm this and also added dcs (this is what my pro-163 said) od a dcs of 017 on the voice side the data is blocked out so that helps alot!

Now i was looking and i did not know we had a dcs 017 but for some odd reason my 163 is picking it up,
