All,

I've been having a problem listening to the Horry County Fire and Rescue Live Scanner Audio Feed using the Java player. It has some kind of background noise blip every second or less. The noise doesn't happen when using the Web player.

Is anyone else hearing this? Any ideas on where the problem is?

Listening with the Java Player, I am not hearing any noise as described at this time.

OK. this is weirder. The java feed NOW shows that hiccup again. I switched to the web player. It is stuck on manual on a control channel. I know. It can't happen. It is almost like one player is listening to a different feed.

I had a similiar issue with my feed. I found that it sometimes happens with the java feed caches the clip and is playing it back overlaying on new audio.. Not exactly sure why....

Try closing the java feed, do this procedure, close the browser and try again...

To clear the Java Plug-in cache:
1.Click Start > Control Panel.

2.Double-click the Java icon in the control panel.
The Java Control Panel appears.

3.Click Settings under Temporary Internet Files.
The Temporary Files Settings dialog box appears.

4.Click Delete Files.
The Delete Temporary Files dialog box appears.

There are three options on this window to clear the cache.
1.Delete Files
2.View Applications
3.View Applets
5.Click OK on Delete Temporary Files window.
Note: This deletes all the Downloaded Applications and Applets from the cache.

6.Click OK on Temporary Files Settings window.
Note: If you want to delete a specific application and applet from the cache, click on View Application and View Applet options respectively.

Thanks Scott! That got me fixed. I never knew Java had its own cache to clear.
