New to scanning and this forum.

Looks like a great, helpful resource.

I've managed to program some P25 police scanner frequencies, but I haven't been able to figure out how to add some local municipalities that are not listed in dB as using P25. Millburn and Maplewood are listed as using lower freq FM. I programmed one as a "conventional" system and got nothing but constant static on 0 squelch.

Are these municipalities using P25? Anyone monitoring any of these towns currently on a similar Uniden device?

LMK TIA

RRDB states the following:

Millburn

New Jersey Interoperability Communications System (NJICS)
Project 25 Phase II
Police Dispatch and Fire Operations are on this system.

Maplewood

Maplewood Fire Department has officially switched to NJICS.

Police are still listed as conventional

squelch is pretty much non existent in a trunked radio systems.
squelch set at zero is the looseist and means all you will hear is white noise or back round hash noise.
squelch set at 9 is the tightest and will block out most every signal unless your standing right on top of the signal.

squelch should be set at 2 or 3 and that will allow reception of most signal while blocking out the back round hash or white noise.
