Yes you need both the tap and data slicer for trunker/etrunker. For T4win you only need the tap to feed the audio to your sound card. The tap is a modification to the radio. Try www.dataslicers.com for a slicer or build your own. :D

Yes the slicer will work with the BC250D or any other radio with a tap. Pro2052, R8500 ect. As for software trunking, the software is mostly for investigating trunk systems for new frequencys and talkgroups and other stuff. Trunker is old now and not been updated in a while but works excellect for Motorola 800 systems. Etrunker will do the edacs systems and T4Win is still in beta test but its going to replace the other two as it will do both Moto and Edacs and others. Expecting a new release of T4Win to be out pretty soon with some bug fixes. Also T4Win is a true windows program, the other two are DOS mainly but will run in a window on MicroSoft Windows systems. Hope this helps you out. I dont know offhand where the tap is for a BC250D but search around and you should have no problems finding it.

Actually Trunker and Etrunk are being updated. Eric has patched trunker to work with VHF/UHF smartzone systems.

There is also a "pure" windows port of trunker. It looks, tastes, and smells like DOS trunker but does not need the WOW/VDM DOS emulation support of Windows NT.

Perhaps this summer we'll have new versions of all three.
