I recently was camping up the Northern California coast then cut over to the Sierra Nevada. Our group moved daily and worked our way down to the Sonora Pass area before heading home. Along the way we visited a few different fire lookouts. Here are a some pictures.

Nobody was home at this one.

We didn't have a chance to go and say hi to whoever occupied this one.

Abandoned but has Alert California fire watch cameras. Also had the rockiest, bumpiest un-maintained forest road leading to it.

When I was young, 1960-1970’s, my grandfather worked numerous lookouts over about 15 years. All Norcal

Those photos brought back some of my favorite memories.

Thank you.
