I have been listening to Norman NEC 2, for the past week, and it sounds as if this is a radio tech., channel. Evertime there is traffic, it sounds like (2) radio tech's talking back and forth.

It sounds like they are voicing their concerns over Norman's Trunked Radio System. Apparently Norman is spending all of their budget on the system, and they are attempting to figure out what they are going to do when the State Smart System goes 100% Astro-25. It sounds like they do not want to go Astro-25, and in fact have been talking about their old repeaters, and how to get them back on-line.

Does anyone know when Smart System will go 100% Astro-25?
I can see from RR, that testing on Astro-25 is being pereformed in Tulsa.

Howdy Layman I think I caught some of that traffic on TG 48048. I suspect they are the cities Emergency Manager and Norman's man in charge of the trunking system. The EM (Davis Grizzle) is now a ham and also will come up on 147.06 during bad wx.

AGREE

I agree on how can the state afford to upgrade the system when they keep freezing the budget. BUT.................I heard that there should be alot of State Troopers retiring soon under the Louisana Plan, in fact they have froze the Pre-requiste on Associates Degree. It was supposed to be raised to Bachelor's this year or late 2004. They did this for fear of shortage.
