Ever since the 5/10/2010 tornado, NPD and NFD have been missing. Anyone know where to find them? Haven't seen anything posted here. All I can find on fhe Smartzone is Animal Control, Norman School PD, and EMSSTAT patient reports to hospital.

Anyone?

Bob your going to need to add talkgroup 25200 for NPD and 25232 NFD to your TG id list if you're on a Radio Shack scanner in the closed group mode.. Since 5/10 they have doing strange patching stuff

Thanks for the information.

I've thought about running my Pro-97 open, but I don't want to end up listening to a bunch of garbage trucks and line maintenance conversations. Any ideas on that?

FYI: I use Win97 to program it.
Yes that is a hazard of the Radio Shack open/ closed system. You can enter the talkgroups they are on now but who knows the next change might be to another TG you don't have programmed in. I have a Pro-67 in the bedroom that I had to enter these last two talkgroups in. I just manually entered those. After the 5/10 storms Norman's radio system had some bad problems with interference of some kind seems like these 2 TG are a result of that?? Don't know for sure.

Or just different strange patching stuff. Antennas are down at N5UWY so haven't looked at the system with Unitrunker lately, but they had been patching DC and Fire 1 together (and DC and R&I on the PD side). Last year or the year before, they were using another pair of TGs for the two DCs different from the LMA channels they are using now (search the old messages if you care enough).

Hard to tell what problem they are trying to solve on a consumer scanner. I *assume* that both towers (Boyd/Jenkins and north of Lake Thunderbird) are operational, but don't really know.

Interestingly, by BCD396XT stops on the right tag, then displays the patched TG. Fun!

The FD was using 25360 last year.

Just wanted to say a big Thank You to Chip at Radio Shack for helping me get those new talkgroups installed. He also gave me a great tip to finding the new groups next time without having to run the radio open all the time.

So is there a scanner out there that will hunt down the new tags without having to open and search? Been considering a Bearcat. In the 23 years I've been scanning, I've only owned one Bearcat. Been a strictly Radio Shack man since 1987.
