I have been looking around N.C. .gov for the bids for radio equipment availablity and pricing, and not having much luck as of late. I need to put together a proposal to replace an old analog repeater with whatever mother "M" is selling these days. Is the MTR-3000 still available or is it the GTR8000 being the current model. Looking for a unit for preferably analog with future TRBO capability, and does not use mobile radios in the repeater. Also a good Celwave duplexer like the PD-5042 from the Quantar repeaters.
Anyone have the website or direct me to where to look. I know N.Y. DGS was a PIA to go through, but I eventually got the info I needed from it.

Unfortunately, you probably won't find much TRBO equipment in the public safety field, especially in North Carolina because DMR wasn't produced for public safety. While yes, some places do use it for public safety, it's not recommended.

I agree about TRBO but this is for support services on VHF not on VIPER, and this is only looking forward for the 10 year life expectancy cycle of the equipment.
The MTR3000 was capable of either P-25 or TRBO and analog mix mode, but I don't know if it's still available.

If you are part of a government agency, you are probably under the NASPO contract. Best place to start would be with your purchasing people and confirm they can buy under NASPO.

They'll have contract pricing on that site.

I was at the IPS site, but to further drill down, yes we an authorized agency for state contracts (FD). I am looking for the Motorola price list, and I found Icom but that's all I found. I am not intending to order yet, but I do need the pricing and availibilty of equipment. The contract is 725G which should be public information.

I dug around and didn't see a communications vendor list for North Carolina.
Other states have them, though. You could at least look and see what their pricing is. NASPO is often 25% - 30% off list price. A good purchasing analyst can work that down even farther.

If all you need is Analog, there are a lot of options other than Motorola. If you don't specifically need Motorola gear, you can save a lot of money by going with other vendors. There are some perfectly good analog repeaters out there.
