If you're a salesman...:)

Actually it really is at end of life. The system I manage is similar vintage and will no longer be supported after 2016. That means repairs would be "best effort" only, which means they'll fix it if parts can be found. That's not a good thing in the event of a critical failure of a mission critical system.

They're also proprietary systems; not a good thing in this day and age.

yep the hole SWRCN system will be over and done when the new tower gets built at Pearl&Boston Road from what i was told. Only time will tell so many new talkgroups poping up on Clevelands New System.

I wonder if the agencies currently on SWRCN will feel the need to continue to block the public from their normal dispatch channel once they move to the Cleveland system. I guess time will tell.

Don't know how true this is it come from a fireman, both Middleberg & Strongsville want ENC because of issues regarding suspects using smartphone apps. N.Roy was not mentioned just the latter, I would bet the entire LEO side of the new system will be ENC if not at the beginning after the bugs are worked out.

Not just suspects using smartphone apps but the general public at large.
