I know that North Star operates on The NJSP Trunked system but they also get dispatched on a simplex frequency too.

155.295

Does anyone know the PL for them on that Frequency?

Don't know if REMCS transmit a PL tone with pages but I believe they use 85.4 Hz for voice ops on ch. 5.

Here's the complete REMCS frequency plan:

155.4000 - REMCS 1 (Citywide Dispatch) - PL 127.3 Hz
155.3400 - REMCS 2 (Ambulance to hospital ER) - CSQ
155.2800 - REMCS 3 (Statewide EMS Coordination) - CSQ
153.7850 - REMCS 4 (Same as SPEN 4, Statewide mobile public safety coordination (EMS, police, and fire)) - CSQ
155.2950 - REMCS 5 (NorthSTAR and Outside Newark Dispatch) - PL 85.4 Hz
155.1000 - REMCS 6 (Essex County OEM and MCI Coordination) - PL 107.2 Hz

You'll only hear REMCS 1, 5, and 6 if you're close enough to Newark. REMCS 2-4 are statewide.

Re: Joseph 11's post about only hearing REMC 5 if you're close to Newark, I live in Brick, which is a considerable distance from Newark, and I heard NorthStar get dispatched on 155.295 PL 85.4 Wednesday morning for an accident here in Brick. Didn't actually hear any tones but heard their dispatcher tell them to fly and give them the info on the Landing Zone location.

Very nice, DJ88. I never usually get it. I'm holding on the frequency now, I'll see if I hear it.

NJ Question

CAn anyone advise, I often hear on the state trunked system a message advising hospitals to switch to "F-6" reference radio test. What talkgroup or conventional frequency is F-6 can anyone advise??

Thanks for the replys and the link is excellent. Now my next question is why is it that I never hear that talkgroup? For those of you who do, do you have the state police trunked system prograsmmed as a type 1 and a type 2 system seperately?

It's only Type II. It's been that way since around 2003 and now that it's SmartZone it's impossible to fall back to Type I.

The New Jersey State PDF File Joseph11 referred you contains the most updated information you will find. The author updates it as soon as he finds or receives any new information pertaining to the systems. The date it was last updated always appears at the bottom of the first page.
